automed is a next-generation medication delivery system designed for commercial livestock producers. As a result of our rapid growth, we are now expanding to include the ongoing development of our online platforms and applications.
The position will be located in Canberra, and is suited for a motivated applications developer with experience in developing online platforms using Node.js, and MySQL that operates within an AWS environment.
Your primary focus will be the development of server-side logic and ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well. The successful candidate must also have excellent skills in developing integration solutions using REST API and other types of integration protocols.
Development and integration of front-end components
Integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic
Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
Implementation of security and data protection
Integration of data storage solutions
Integration of partner datasets and processes
Working with clients to further develop the automed system and solve any usability issues
Development of the automed integration platform.
Good understanding of server-side templating languages Jade, EJS, etc.
Good understanding of AWS services and techniques

Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate their development ability and show excellent skills in communication, working with diverse teams, problem-solving and adhering to strict deadlines.
The position is for a minimum of 20 hours a week up to 40 hours a week and could suit ongoing undergraduate students, graduates or post-graduate students looking for a way to get started with a fast-growing company.
