App Developer – Android

automed is a next-generation medication delivery system designed for commercial livestock producers. As a result of our rapid growth, we are now expanding to include the ongoing development of our online platforms and applications.

The position will be located in Canberra, and is suited for a motivated applications developer with experience in developing Android applications.

Responsibilities
 Working with a diverse team to further develop the automed Android application
 Integration of user-facing elements with app logic
 Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
 Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
 Implementation of security and data protection
 Integration of data storage solutions
 Working with clients to further develop the automed system and solve any usability issues
 Development of the automed integration platform.

Skills
 High proficiency with Android Java
 Proficiency in Android frameworks
 Good understanding of HTML and CSS
 Integration of APIs
 Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
 Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
 Excellent ability to produce development documentation
 Strong communication skills
 Ability to work within a diverse team with different levels of skills and capabilities
 Strong problem-solving skills
 Ability to ensure deadlines are met
 Ability to work under pressure
 Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, BitBucket
 Use of other systems such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket is an advantage but not a requirement.

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate their development ability and show excellent skills in communication, working with diverse teams, problem-solving and adhering to strict deadlines.

The position is for a minimum of 20 hours a week up to 40 hours a week and would suit ongoing undergraduate students, graduates or post-graduate students looking for a way to get started with a fast-growing company.
